About
Workforce Housing.
The Village at King Farm is the first Montgomery County community to include Workforce Housing (WFH) residences. The WFH Program gives households with members who work in Montgomery County an opportunity to own a home in the County. The program offers benefits to County employees and employers, and to the overall community as well:
- Offers greater housing choices in the County for households with incomes between 71% and 120% of the DC area median income
- Increases the availability of housing in the County for public employees and others whose income cannot support the high cost of housing near their workplace
- Assists County employers in reducing workforce shortages by providing housing that will be accessible to their workplace
- Reduces traffic congestion by cutting commuting distances for employees who live and work in the County
Under the WFH Program, qualifying households are able to purchase a Montgomery County home for a below-market sales price in exchange for certain controls on the property. To learn more about the program and how to purchase, click here.
